Custer's function room is affectionatly known as the "Teepee Room", an area that vibrates with atmosphere and is a shrine to the Sioux and Cheyenne Indians, particularly to Sitting Bull and Crazy Horse.

Here you could almost believe you were in a Plains Indian Teepee! It is beautifully decorated with Indian regalia and natural light streams down through the top of the "Teepee". On the wall, amongst other things, you will find a Sioux cradle, a prop used in the movie, Dances With Wolves. And on the back wall is a magnificent painting of the poignant End of the Trail, painted here by Monaghan artist, Monica Liddle.

Other items to go on display shortly are Sioux moccasins from the 1880's, a buffalo coat worn by a U.S. soldier in the late 1870's, and a pistol believed to have been used by Captain Myles Keogh, possibly dating back to the late 1860's.

The only incongruity in the room is the 42" TV where major sports events are viewed in a magnificent atmosphere.

The room can accommodate 32 people seated and would be suitable for many small parties and functions.

To book an event, call us on 042 935 9448, e-mail teepee@custerscookhouse.com, or call down to us in Bridge Street for a drink and a chat.
